California-based photographer Allan Barnes creates ambrotypes using a 165-year-old technique. The processes combines raw cotton, ether and silver nitrate. This series of ethereal images were produced in collaboration with body painter Michael Rosner of Eye Level Studio.
“Sometimes I work with stained glass, which gives the shadow areas a tone that reflects the color of the glass, usually red or blue…” says Allan.
